Manchester United Probable Lineup Against Leicester City

man united vs leceister city

Manchester United will kickstart the 2018-19 season when they face Leicester City this evening.

The Red Devils failed to add to their squad yesterday, though, they have earlier signed three players — Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant.

José Mourinho will be hoping to win the Premier League for the first time since he took over from Rio Ferdinand as the club’s manager in 2016-17 season.

For him to achieve this longtime dream, the Portuguese manager must start on winning note by defeating the Foxes, who were busy throughout the transfer market.

Unlike their United, the Foxes added five new players to the squad and the new players would be hoping to get some minutes of action against the Red Devils.

Here is how United might lineup later today :

Having returned earlier than expected from the world cup, David De Gea is set to start between the sticks.

DARMIAN is set to start due to Antonio Valencia’s absence, he would pair up with BAILLY at the heart of the defense. LUKE SHAW and VICTOR LINDELOF, who was awesome for Sweden at the Mundial, complete United’s defensive setup.

Young midfielder SCOTT MCTOMINAY could be given the chance to feature from the start in place of Nemanja Matic, who is injured while new signing FRED would be given his competitive debut by the Portuguese manager.

A.PEREIRA, who was loaned out to La Liga last season will start alongside JUAN MATA to complete a four-man midfield.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ will start against the former Premier League Champions later tonight and he would be paired with MARCUS RASHFORD, who cut short his vacation to join the team ahead of the season opener.

In summary, below is Mourinho’s probable starting Eleven against Claude Puel’s Leicester City

De Gea; Darmian, Bailly, Lindelof, Shaw; McTominay, Fred, A.Pereira; Mata, Rashford, Alexis

Unai Emery

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has called for more patience with club skipper Laurent Koscielny as he recovers from a long-term injury.

The Spanish tactician spoke about his captain with the club’s official website as he pointed out that the recently retired France international defender needs time to recover from the most difficult spell of his football career.

Koscielny, 33, has returned to light training with the Gunners after his Achilles problem but still a long way from featuring for the first team according to the former Sevilla and Valencia boss.

He suffered the injury in the last campaign during the second leg of the Gunners’ Europa League semifinal clash with Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal lost the game 1-0 courtesy a Diego Costa strike and were eliminated 2-1 on aggregate to eventual winners Atletico who defeated French outfit Olympique Marseille in the final to win the competition.

The injury forced Koscielny to miss the French title triumph at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia and that prompted him to controversially announce his retirement from international football earlier this week.

According to him, he was disappointed with the way he was treated by the French national team manager Didier Deschamps while he was recovering from the Achilles injury.

Laurent Koscielny scored once in 51 appearances for the world champions.

Milan Skriniar

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has confirmed that he will continue his football career with the Italian Serie A side despite the overtures of Premier League giants Manchester United.

The Slovakian international centre-back was heavily linked the Red Devils during the summer’s transfer window.

Skiriniar, 23, spoke about the Manchester United interest and the desire to stay at Inter Milan in a chat with popular news portal ESPN as he pointed out that he’s flattered at the interest from Jose Mourinho and the former Premier League winners.

Portuguese tactician Mourinho requested for a new centre-back in the summer but he didn’t get his wish.

Apart from Milan Skriniar, Manchester United were also linked with other centre backs like Napoli stopper Kalidou Koulibaly, German World Cup winner Jerome Boateng, Atletico Madrid skipper Diego Costa, Leicester City defender Harry Maguire and Tottenham Hotspur star Toby Alderweireld.

Without a new centre-back, Manchester United have struggled defensively in the new campaign.

The Red Devils have conceded a whopping 14 goals in just eight games and they are the joint fourth worst team defensively in the Premier League this season.

The lack of defensive solidity has seen Manchester United lose three league games already in eight games.

Michael Owen gives is prediction of United’s game against Chelsea

Timothy Aiyeku

micheal owen

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen will not forget the past records manager Jose Mourinho has had at the Stamford Bridge since joining the Red Devils and he will not give him a chance on Saturday.

Mourinho travels with his boys to the Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the Premier League game.

Since his leaving Chelsea as their manager, Mourinho has never won a game at the Stamford Bridge as an opposition and Owen thinks the same will repeat itself knowing the unstable state of the United team.

It is also important to note that in addition to the fine form of the Blues side, they are yet to be beaten in the Premier League this season and have lost just once at home in their last 16 games at the Stamford Bridge.

Owen stated that the United game against Newcastle where the Mourinho side had come from behind to secure a win I worthy of note which will make the game a good one to see.

However, The West London side will hope on their fine record and a great form of Belgium star player Eden Hazard who has been the man for the team this season to fire again against their visitors.

Klopp not sorry about ‘senseless’ tag of Nations League

Timothy Aiyeku

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is obviously not sorry about the description of the UEFA Nations League as being “senseless”.

This is because he has stressed on why it should be scrapped by the organizers, noting that it is at the detriments of the players and club.

Klopp is of the opinion that players who have gone through stressful fixtures be allowed to rest so as to return fresh during international break instead of involving in more competitive games.

In his latest statement, the German stated that the UEFA Nations League is a good idea in itself but has no space in football because there are lots of competitions to compete for.

According to him, its important players are given the space to refresh so that the games can be enjoyed by the spectators, citing that no one will watch an underperforming game in the stadium.

He noted that other sports have reasons to rest during the summer break like the American football but that is not the case for the round leather game which usually affects the performance of the clubs.

Klopp said he has his opinion and he stands by what he holds of the competition despite the disagreement by national team coaches.
