Manchester United are still searching for a quality centre-back as their move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng and Leicester City star man Harry Maguire were rejected by Bayern Munich and Leicester City respectively.
With less than a day to the end of the transfer market, United boss José Mourinho has made another offer to the Foxes for the England international, hoping to finally seal a deal for the 25-year-old’s signature.
However, there is a good news for the Portuguese gaffer and the club’s faithfuls as the Independent reports that Harry Maguire is hoping to join the Red Devils before the close of the summer window.
According to the media outlet, the former Hull City defender is eager to work with Mourinho in the coming season and he has told the king Power outfits to sanction his switch to the Theater of Dreams latest tomorrow.
It should be recalled that Mourinho’s bids were earlier rejected by Leicester City hierarchy, who are desperate to hold onto Maguire’s signature irrespective of the offer they have received from the Red Devils manager.
It remains unknown whether United vice-chairman Ed Woodward will be willing to meet Leicester city’s asking price of £80m on the player’s signature or he will move elsewhere in his search for a reliable centre-back.
