Manchester United and Tottenham agree to deal for Toby Alderweireld.
Manchester United have finally reached an agreement with the North London side for the transfer of Toby Alderweireld subject to Tottenham finding a replacement for the Belgium international.
Interest in the 29-year-old star player from Jose Mourinho’s camp has been well pronounced throughout the summer and Leicester City’s unwillingness to do a deal for Harry Maguire has forced United to improve their bid for Alderweireld.
However, with the uncertainty surrounding the arrival of the centre-half, it is believed that the English giants are still in the hunt for alternatives in case they fail to land their man.
The club has however opted against Barcelona’s Yerry Mina despite reaching an agreement with the Spanish club for the transfer of the Colombia international.
Alderweireld is also hoping a move can materialise after falling out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino last season.
Regardless of the impending deal with the Tottenham defender, it has been gathered that Manchester United will listen to offers for Argentine Marcos Rojo with a view to move him on before the end of the transfer window.
Promising defender Axel Tuanzebe has also returned to Aston Villa for another loan spell.
