Another twist in the uncertain future of Arsenal striker Lucas Perez appears to be a potential agreement with Sporting Lisbon over a transfer.

The Spaniard has endured a largely underwhelming spell at the Gunners and spent last season on loan at Deportivo la coruna.

Perez netted eight goals in 37 appearances for the club but eventually returned to England due to the loan offer being stipulated for only a season.

The striker is however not keen on once again being in the sidelines for his current club and is understood to be desperate for a move away from the Emirates stadium.

Recent reports have emerged that the Premiership outfit held talks with Sporting Lisbon and have now reportedly accepted their 4.4 million pounds offer for the forward.

The reports further stated the player’s representatives and the Portuguese side are now negotiating over personal terms with the deal possibly been concluded over the coming days.

The funds accrued from the sale of the 28-year-old and the sale of other fringe players would reportedly be channelled into making further reinforcement.

Manager, Unai Emery has made six new signings and he is intent on building up a squad capable of challenging on all fronts for the forthcoming campaign.
