Arsenal striker Lucas Perez linked with a switch to Leicester city
Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has been linked with a 7 million pounds switch to Leicester city according to reports from British tabloids.
The Spaniard has endured a turbulent time at the Emirates since his arrival from Spain and has been ousted from the starring xi by the arrivals of Alexander Lacazette and Pierre- Emerick Aubemayang
Such frustration at his lack of starts for the English outfit saw him make a return to Spain where he scored eight goals in 37 appearances for Deportivo la Coruna
And emerging reports have indicated that Arsenal New boss Unai Emery is keen on offloading the 29-year-old amidst an array of attacking options available at his disposal.
The former Sevilla manager recently added goalkeeper Berno Leno and Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torerria to his playing ranks and has publicly admitted he would be looking to add further options ahead of his debut managerial rein in the English Premier League
Leicester City are reportedly the frontrunners ahead of Italian side Lazio in the race for Perez and a bid of around 7 million pounds would reportedly be enough for the north Londoners to depart with their disgruntled striker
Euro 2020 Qualifiers: Former Arsenal Star On Target In Dramatic Win
Former Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry scored a stunning goal as he helped Germany to a dramatic win over the Netherlands in their Euro 2020 qualifying clash.
Germany beat the Netherlands 3-2 away from home in what was their first game in the qualifiers.
It was a significant win over Germany following the announcement from manager Joachim Low that three experienced players would no longer be a part of the team.
Joachim Low left out the Bayern Munich trio of Mat Hummels, Thomas Muller and Jerome Boateng as he revealed that the three Bayern Munich players would no longer be considered for call-up to the national team.
The newlook Germany team took the lead in the 15th minute through Manchester City winger Leroy Sane before Bayern Munich star Gnabry added a second goal on 34 minutes with a stunner after he outsmarted Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.
Serge Gnabry spent five years with Arsenal between 2011 and 2016 having joined from German club VfB Stuttgart.
The 23-year-old left the Gunners to join German champions Bayern Munich in 2016.
Germany maintained the 2-0 lead at halftime only for the hosts to fightback through Matthijs De Ligt and Memphis Depay but the immediate past world champions had the last laugh after TSG Hoffenheim midfielder Nico Schulz scored the winning goal on the stroke of full-time.
Four of EPL top-six clubs fight for Serie A defender
There is no doubt that a number of top English Premier League sides are struggling with their defence will seek to strengthen as soon as the summer transfer window is reopened.
It is reported that English Premier League sides Chelsea, Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal are all in the race for the signature of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar ahead of the coming summer transfer window.
The West London outfit are looking forward to part with a number of their players including David Luiz and that is the reason why they need Milan Skriniar as an option as they intend to challenge for the league title next season.
The Blues are struggling to be in the top four of the English Premier League as they face competition from Arsenal and Man United, having lost a number of games.
However, the West London outfit are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and there are fears that they could still play at that level in the coming season, should they fail to secure qualification.
Meanwhile, there is a need to strengthen the team, and Milan Skriniar has been tipped to be a good fit for the club. He is suggested to cost Chelsea as little as £30 million.
No AFCON Show For Arsenal Striker
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t feature at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt this summer after Gabon failed to qualify for the biennial competition.
Aubameyang played the entire duration of the game as his Gabon side could only manage a 1-1 draw away to Burundi.
Cedric Amissi gave the hosts a 1-0 lead 76 minutes before Gabon equalised six minutes later through a goal from Omar Ngando.
Burundi held on to the much needed draw for the final eight minutes of the game.
It was a tensed atmosphere for the final moments of the game but Burundi held on to qualify for their first ever AFCON tournament via the draw.
They finished their campaign in Group C with 10 points and in second place behind group leaders Mali who had 14 points.
Gabon had eight points from the six games played and they finished in third position.
Aubameyang and Gabon needed a win over Burundi to qualify for 2019 AFCON ahead of their lowly opponents but they were only able to get a draw.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to return to action with the Gunners when they host Newcastle United in their Premier League clash with Arsenal looking to maintain their place in the top four.
Arsenal Midfielder Shines In Switzerland Win
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka played a big role for Switzerland in their win over Georgia in what was their opening game of the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

In the other Group D game, Stoke City midfielder Jeff Hendrick scored the only goal of the game to give the Republic of Ireland a 1-0 win over Gilbratar away from home.
Denmark are the fifth and final team in the group and they will start their Euro 2020 qualifiers with a trip to Basel to take on Switzerland.
Arsenal fans will be hoping that Granit Xhaka stays injury free ahead of the Gunners’ home game against Newcastle United in their Premier League clash in eight days’ time.
Euro 2020 Qualifiers: Arsenal Defender Sits Out Greece Win
Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos was benched for the entire duration of the game as his Greek side got their Euro 2020 qualifiers to a flying start.
The Gunners centre back watched from the bench as Greece defeated Lichtenstein 2-0 away from home to start their qualifying campaign with a win.
Greece got their win with two goals either side of the halftime interval.
The 2004 European champions broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime through Kostas Fortounis before Anastasios Donis wrapped up the win with ten minutes to go.
The win ensured that Greece move to joint top alongside Italy in Group J of the qualifiers.
The target for Greece is to emulate the class of 2004 when they shocked the world by winning the European Championship via a 1-0 win over Portugal.
Angelo Charisteas was the hero for the Greek team after he scored the only goal of the game.
Greece will hope to maintain their winning run in the qualifiers when they travel to take on Bosnia and Herzegovina in their second game.
Arsenal defender Sokratis was rested for the first game against Lichtenstein and he’s expected to make his return to the Greece starting XI for the Bosnia game on Tuesday night.
Mkhitaryan On Target In Euro 2020 Qualifying Defeat
Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was on the scoresheet as his side suffered defeat in the opening match of their Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Mkhitaryan was on target in the second half as his Armenia side were beaten 2-1 by hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina in their Group J clash.
The home side took a 33rd minute lead through Rade Krunic before Deni Milosevic added a second goal for the Bosnians with ten minutes left on the clock.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan pulled one back for Armenia from the spot to setup a grandstand finish but the hosts held on to start their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign on a winning note.
In one of the other Group J games, Lichtenstein lost 2-0 at home to 2004 European champions Greece courtesy goals from Kostas Fortounis and Anastasios Donis either side of the halftime interval.
The same scoreline was recorded when Italy hosted Finland in their first Euro 2020 qualifier.
The Italians started on a good note with a 2-0 home win over Finland through goals from Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella and young Juventus striker Moise Kean.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Armenia would be hoping for a better outing than the one against Bosnia when they host Finland in their second game of the qualifiers on Tuesday evening.
Ex-Arsenal Midfielder Targets West Ham Return Before Season Ends
West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere is hoping to return to action with the Hammers before the end of the season.
The former Arsenal player has battled with several injury problems this season and that has limited his appearances in his first season at West Ham United.
Jack Wilshere told Sky Sports that his target is to return to action between now and May when the current season ends.
He has made just five appearances for the Hammers this term having been injured for the better part of the last six months.
Wilshere has been missing in action for the Hammers since he picked up an ankle injury in December.
The England international joined West Ham United as a free agent last summer after his Arsenal contract came to an end.
On his Arsenal exit, Jack Wilshere revealed that he made the decision to leave the club after holding a discussion with Gunners boss Unai Emery who replaced legendary manager Arsene Wenger at the start of the season.
Unai Emery was handed a three-year contract at the club.
Jack Wilshere has been at Arsenal since he was a teenager before he made the decision to leave the club and join the Hammers last summer.
Reasons Why Nigeria’s Kelechi Nwakali Is the Future of Arsenal’s Midfield
The young Nigerian has been a revelation since his side (Nigeria’s U-17) winning campaign in 2015. He’s grown in leaves and bound over the years as he has had a series of loan spells which he has been very impressive during his time at those clubs.
This earned him a call-up to the Senior National Team Super Eagles under Coach Gernot Rohr for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers back in September last year (2018).
With the imminent departure of Aaron Ramsey to Juventus coupled with the uncertainty concerning the future of Mesut Ozil at Arsenal, Nwakali could be a capable replacement on this stance.
On this note, we evaluate three (3) reasons why the Nigerian is the future of Arsenal’s midfield.
His Marking Ability
The player has got impressive ability to cover the grounds while also dictating the flow of the game as he is widely renowned for in his country (by Nigerian fans).
This stands him out as an inspiring replacement for the aforementioned stars (Ramsey and Mesut Ozil) if the latter leaves the Emirates probably in the summer.
He’s got an impressive work rate as seen during his time away at Arsenal as manager Unai Emery must capitalize on his quality to bring the balance Arsenal had needed in the years past.
He’s got A Big Heart
The player is an exemplary talent as he captained the Nigeria U-17 to the World Cup triumph in 2015 at Chile. The player alongside his international colleague (in midfield) Oghenekaro Etebo now at Stoke City has got a big heart for their team. He’s got immense leadership qualities on and off the pitch coupled with the confidence that backs
his gameplay in transition.
This is what the player brings to Unai Emery’s side as it will enable him to flourish at the Emirates Stadium.
His Attacking Dynamism
The ease at which the player evades players in transition is a delight to watch as he’s proven times without number.
This is what the London side stands to gain as they restore the player at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield where he supposedly belongs.
Nwakali’s show of class and creativity in midfield was what attracted the London club to sign him in the first place.
He’s matured now and with his involvement with the National side (the Olympic team) couple with his invitation to the senior side, so expect the player to have grown in experience and discipline to shoulder the responsibility that comes with playing for Unai Emery’s Arsenal side.
Arsenal Star Ruled Out Of Wales’ Euro 2020 Qualifiers
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out of Wales’ upcoming Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia.
The Gunners player will miss the Slovakia game on Sunday because of injury.
Aaron Ramsey had earlier missed the international friendly clash with Trinidad and Tobago earlier this week because of the injury.
Young Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn scored the only goal of the game to give Wales a 1-0 win over their opponents.
Apart from Ramsey, other senior Wales players like Gareth Bale, Joe Allen and Ben Davies were rested for the Trinidad and Tobago game.
The injury status of Ramsey was revealed via the official handle of the Welsh national team.
It was also stated that the Arsenal midfielder will return to North London to continue treatment on his injury.
Arsenal would be hoping that the Welshman is fit for their next game, a Premier League game against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on the 1st of April.
Aaron Ramsey is in the last few months of his Arsenal contract and he’s expected to leave the club this summer.
The 28-year-old has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Italian champions Juventus and he’s expected to join the Old Lady on a four-year deal until the end of the 2022/23 season.
No Career End For Xhaka At Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has revealed that he won’t end his career at the club.
The Swiss international player made the revelation in his latest interview.
Granit Xhaka told Swiss newspaper Tagblatt that he’s happy at the club before adding that he might not end his career at the club.
The 26-year-old has been an important player for the Gunners since his transfer from German Bundesliga club Borussia Moenchengladbach in the summer of 2016.
Arsenal paid £35m to secure his transfer from the German club.
Granit Xhaka was a key member of the Arsenal squad that won the 2017 FA Cup title via a 2-1 win over London rivals Chelsea at the end of extra time.
In addition, Xhaka was a major part of the Switzerland squad that reached the last 16 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Switzerland were eliminated in the first knockout stage of the competition by Sweden.
Despite the appointment of Unai Emery as the Arsenal manager last summer, Xhaka has retained his position as an important player for the Gunners.
The Swiss midfielder has scored three league goals this season to help the Gunners to a top-four spot on the Premier League table with eight games left to play this season.
