Chuba Akpom Edges Closer To Arsenal Departure
Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom is closer to leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer as new suitors emerged for his signature.
The 22-year-old striker graduated from the Gunners set up but he wasn’t given the chance by Arsene Wenger to prove himself with the senior squad.
He only featured in 12 matches with the club’s senior squad before being loaned to different clubs for regular first-team actions.
However, the player is reportedly set to move out of the Emirates Stadium on a permanent basis so as to have a steady career.
According to goal.com via the Daily Mail, Greek giants PAOK have shown interest in his signature and they are ready to slug it out with Belgian side Sint-Truiden, who are said to be eyeing a permanent deal for him.
Akpom spent last season on loan with the Belgian side and they are now hoping to lure him permanently to the club.
According to the report, PAOK have tabled £2m for his signature but it remains unknown if the Gunners would love to sanction his move to PAOK for such a low price tag.
A permanent move to a new club will be perfect for the young striker, who is hoping to rejuvenate his career in the coming season.
Akpom is known as a player with huge potentials and it will take regular game-time on the pitch to rediscover his form in the coming season.
Other players who could be leaving the Emirates Stadium include Carl Jenkinson and Joel Campbell.
