Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign one more player before the close of the world ongoing transfer window.
The Gunners have signed two defenders, a goalkeeper and two defensive midfielders earlier in the month but are yet to sign any attack-minded player, despite numerous rumors linking them with move for Real Madrid forwards Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.
The Gunners manager Unai Emery was also said to be in pole position to sign Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman but reports which emanated from the Sun on Thursday claimed that the former Sevilla boss has failed to lure the player to the Emirates Stadium.
However, the Gunners have turned their attention to Senegalese striker M’Baye Niang — who had a great outing with the West African country in Russia 2018 World Cup.
Though the 23-year-old only featured in three matches at the world cup, his performances during the matches were enough to attract Unai’s affection.
Apart from the Gunners, reports among the transfer media suggest that Lyon, Marseille, Everton, West Ham, Nice and Spartak Moscow are all vying for his signature.
This means Arsenal must be ready to compete with top clubs for the pacey forward’s signature ahead of next season.
Niang had an unsuccessful loan spell at the Vicarage road with Watford during the 2016-17 season before he moved to Torino in Italy.
The Gunners are hoping to step up their negotiations with the Serie A side so as to capture his service before the start of next season August.
