Maurizio Sarri Can’t Wait To Sign Gonzalo Higuain; Wants Club To Speed up Negotiations.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly told his employers to speed up their negotiations with Juventus over the signing of Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain.
According to Italian media outlets Sportitalia, the former Napoli boss is keen on reuniting with the striker and he can’t wait to see that happens in the coming days.
Higuain, 30, was lively for the Naples during his time with Sarri in the 2015-16 season before he left for Juventus, where he also helped the team to two back-to-back Scudetto glories.
The Argentine player managed to find the back of the net for Juventus in 16 occasions during the previous season and that has drawn the attention of the new Chelsea boss.
It was reported via Tutto Sports last month that the Blues are looking at the prospect of engaging in a swap deal with the Turin club this summer as they are willing to render Alvaro Morata as a sacrifice.
The Spaniard was inspiring in his debut season at Stamford Bridge last season as he only managed 15 goals in all competitions despite his brilliant start to the season.
The player showed no sign of improvement with his converting ratio in the friendly match against Perth Glory on Sunday and that has made Sarri believed there is an urgent need to get – at least – two world-class strikers including the veteran Argentine goal-poacher.
