Andre Schurrle To Join Fulham Soon.
Former Chelsea star Andre Schurrle is set for a return to the Premier League after three years absence. The German striker was part of Chelsea team who won the League trophy in 2012 but he wasn’t rated by José Mourinho, who sold him to Schalke in the 2015-16 season.
After some dry spell in front of goals, the 27-year-old eventually rediscovered his form last season while playing for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
Having returned to his devastating form, newly promoted Premier League side Fulham have made a move to capture the German, according to his agent Ingo Haspel in an interview with the Bild.
Haspel revealed to the German publication that his client is not part of the players who travelled with Dortmund for their pre-season camping as he was excused by the club’s hierarchy to discuss with the Craven Cottagers over a possible move to the former Championship club.
Fulham are ready to upgrade their team this summer so as to compete with the best clubs in the League.
They have equally picked up interest in Newcastle forward Mitrovic but their prime target remains the former Chelsea star.
While playing for the Blues, Schurrle scored 11 League goals after 44 playing matches.
Should he eventually join the Premier League new boys, he will be expected to lead the team to safety by the end of the 2018-19 season.
