Petr Cech Backed To Remain Arsenal’s First Choice Ahead Of New Signing Bernd Leno.

Arsenal finally signed their longtime target Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen last month but ‘ he won’t push Petr Cech down the pecking order,’ that’s according to ex-Arsenal goaltender, who is now a and Pundit David Seaman.

According to Seaman, Leno is a great keeper and a good addition to the Gunners squad but he won’t be given a starting spot ahead of the Czech Republic goalkeeper Petr Cech in the coming season.

He further opined that the former Chelsea netminder has lots of experience to help him regain his great form before the start of next season so as to maintain his status as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Leno joined the Gunners last month and he would be hoping he gets the starting spot in the coming season. Leno featured in 230 matches for the Bundesliga side throughout his stay in Germany.

Considering Cech’s woeful performances for the North London club during the 2017-18 season, it is easy to say that Leno could be integrated as the club’s No 1 shot-stopper under Unai Emery.

However, the Arsenal legend stressed that David Ospina, who is now the third choice, is surely on his way out of the club this summer with Besiktas tipped as his next destination.
