Two Goalkeepers Emerge As Courtois Replacement.
We reported here on Thursday that the Blues are looking at their chances of signing Leicester City’s goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel as Thibaut Courtois replacement in the coming season.
The Belgian is believed to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge as Real Madrid are on the verge of completing their long-awaited move for his signature.
However, there is a twist to the Blues search for the goalkeeper’s replacement as reports claim that England international goalkeepers Jack Butland or Jordan Pickford have emerged as their target.
According to the Mirror in one of their latest transfer reports, the West London club have cooled their interest in Leicester goaltender and they are now keeping close tabs on the Everton and Stoke City goalkeepers.
Both goalies were in the Three Lions team who finished fourth at the recently concluded world cup in Russia but Pickford was given the nod by Southgate to start all the matches they played throughout the tournament.
The British publication also suggested that Pickford will cost nothing less than £60m, considering his exploits for the three Lions in Russia.
As for Butland, the goaltender is set to move out of Stoke City this summer as he considers himself too good to be playing in the Championship next season.
