Chelsea Complete Second Summer Signing – Rugani deal was confirmed by thesportsman.com

Having sorted out their managerial crisis, Chelsea are in speedy pace to ensure that they sign new players before the close of the present transfer market.

The Blues new manager Maurizio Sarri has already beaten Manchester city to Jorginho’s signature as he unveiled the Italian international to the press and fans last week.

There were reports last that the former Napoli manager was close to luring his former player at Empoli Daniele Rugani.

However, the latest report via the Blues official website claimed that Sarri has successfully captured the defender’s signature having paid £44m to the Old Lady for his services.

According to the report, the Blues have offered the 23-year-old a five-year contract which he gladly accepted. The Italian will be looking to add more strength to the club’s backline in the coming season.

Rugani has been a great player for the Turin outfits since he broke into the club’s first-team squad. He featured in 54 matches for the Scudetto Champions in all competitions prior to his move to the Stamford Bridge.

With Rugani in Chelsea, Gary Cahill – whose future remains unclear – will need to prove his worth during their pre-season tour if he still wants to be in Sarri’s plan for the 2018-19 season.

Sarri would be hoping to have a good outing in his debut season at Stamford Bridge but winning the League might be too soon for the Italian tactician.
