Manchester United To Pull Out Of Toby Alderweireld’s Race.
Premier League giants Manchester United have been in the race for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld since two seasons ago but they failed to capture his signature despite making a huge-money offer for him.
Though reports claim that Luke Shaw is willing to remain under the Portuguese manager beyond this summer, José Mourinho remains keen on luring the player to Old Trafford this summer.
Alderweireld wasn’t in Mauricio Pochetino’s good book last season as the Argentine failed to give the Belgian defender much time on the pitch.
The experience defender is yet to say anything to the media about his future with the North London outfits but reports suggest that the world cup star is considering leaving the team this summer.
Meanwhile, latest reports emanating from Manchester United via The Sport review claims that Mourinho could be ending his interest in the defender since he’s gotten Diogo Dalot from Porto.
Diogo Dalot, 19, looks like a player for the future as he hasn’t gotten the experience needed to be a regular player for the Red Devils but Mourinho is reportedly set to make him one of the players who will see spend much time on the field of play in the coming season.
As for Alderwiereld, he would be hoping to mend things with Pochetino before the start of next season so as to reclaim his starting berth in the Manager’s first eleven. He has a year left in his contract with Tottenham but he could be sold out for just £25m.
