Petr Cech’s Agent Denies Chelsea’s Link To His client.
Chelsea were linked with a move to reuniting with their former goalkeeper Petr Cech, who is presently in Arsenal squad for next Sunday’s pre-season encounter.
The Czech was said to be heading out of Emirates Stadium this summer as there are signs he could be pushed to the substitute bench by the club’s new acquisition Bernd Leno in the 2018-19 season.
Unai Emery once told reporters that he hasn’t made any decision on who will become his first-choice goalkeeper in the coming season, claiming it will be improper to make such important decision without seeing what all his goalkeepers are capable of doing during their pre-season matches where they will be up against Atletico Madrid and Paris St-German.
“It’s clear that we have [a lot] of goalkeepers but we want to work in the future with three goalkeepers in the first team.
“Now, I want to look, I want to work every day with all the goalkeepers and then I am going to decide for [who is No 1].” Emery revealed to Newsmen last month.
A shocking report across all transfer media last night suggested that the Blues are ready to re-unite with the 33-year-old net-minder despite his erroneous showing with the Gunners throughout last season.
However, Viktor Kolar, who is Cech’s agent has publicly denied the rumors that the Blues have made an official contact with the his client over the possibility of re-signing him this summer.
According to Kolar in an interview with ESPN, Chelsea haven’t made any offer for the goalkeeper neither have they met him for any contract discussions.
Considering Cech’s experience and exploits for the Blues, the Gunners will be hoping to give him another chance to rejuvenate himself as one of the best goalies in the world.
