Ruben Loftus-Cheek To Remain At Stamford Bridge
Chelsea are set to keep their young striker Ruben Loftus-Cheek beyond this summer despite interest from Premier League clubs.
The 22-year-old was an integral part of Gareth Southgate’s team who finished fourth at the recently concluded world cup in Russia.
Though his quality was glaring enough to be seen by former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, the Italian boss chose to send him on a loan move to Crystal Palace during the previous season where he performed brilliantly to help the team avoid relegation.
His eye-catching performances with the Eagles last season coupled with his displays with the Three Lions in Russia seems to have wowed Maurizio Sarri, who is now set to give the striker a more prominent role in his team next season.
According to the Times, Sarri is ready to give the Chelsea graduate a chance to lay claim for a place in his team.
The new manager has included the player in the team who are travelling to Australia for their pre-season tour which Kickstarts on Saturday.
Loftus-cheek will be hoping to put up a brilliant performance during the tour so as to convince Sarri that he deserves a place in his squad when the 2018-19 season begins in proper.
Meanwhile, the Blues are reportedly in the race to sign £50m-rated CSKA star Aleksandr Golovin, who could serve as a challenge to the Loftus-cheek’s dream of being a reality.
