Maurizio Sarri Targets Schmeichel As Courtois’ Replacement.
Chelsea manager is set for a busy week in terms of buying and selling of players.
The Italian manager is set to partway with some of the players – such as Olivier Giroud, Bakayoko, Fabregas, all of whom he met at Stamford Bridge.
Some part of the media are claiming that the former Sevilla boss is hoping to renew Courtois and Hazard’s contracts but both players seem to have made up their minds to leave the Stamford Bridge this summer. Both players are said to be heading to Santiago Bernabeu in coming weeks.
Sarri has turned his attention to Leicester City’s goaltender Kasper Schmeichel as an alternative to the Belgian netminder ahead of the upcoming season.
Schmeichel was a joy to watch while he was in action for Denmark during the summer world cup in Russia. His heroic displays helped the European country to a round-16 finish after losing 4-3 to Croatia on penalties.
The 32-year-old still has two years left in his contract with the Foxes but the Blues are hoping they could trigger his release clause this summer.
The Danish goalkeeper helped the King Power outfits to an unexpected Premier League glory in the 2015-16 season and since that time, lots of clubs are hoping to lure him to their respective clubs.
As for Courtois, he could be confirmed as Real Madrid’s latest signing in a couple of days as the Los Blancos have reportedly reached an agreement with the West London club.
