Andre Gomes To Become Arsenal’s Sixth Summer Singing
The Gunners are set to add another midfielder to their squad as reports claim that they are in advance talks with Barcelona for Andre Gomes’ signature.
According to reports emerging from in France via TeamTalk, Arsenal boss Unai Emery has developed an interest in his compatriot and his on the brink of reaching an agreement with the Catalan outfits for his services.
The former Sevilla and Paris St-German manager failed to convince Santi Cazorla to remain at Emirate Stadium beyond this summer. He also failed to renew Jack Wilshere’s contract with the club, so he is hoping he could get the 24-year-old midfielder as a replacement for either of the two departed legends.
Gomes joined the Blaugrana in 2016 but has endured a frustrating career in Camp Nou. He wasn’t given much game-time time as he would have wanted throughout last campaign.
The £35m-rated player is set to move elsewhere so as to rejuvenate his career and Arsenal are set to render him the opportunity to put his career back on track.
Barcelona are already making move to replace him as they have reportedly contacted Manchester City over the possibility of luring Gundogan to their team ahead of next season.
The Spanish giants are also said to be interested in couple of names- including Adrien Rabiot, N’Golo Kante and Steven N’Zonzi- on Valverde’s Wishlist.
