Chelsea Joined By Monaco In Golovin’s Chase
Chelsea have been dealt a huge blow in their race to capture Russia youngster Aleksandr Golovin as Ligue 1 side Monaco join the race.
Golovin is one of the standout players at the recently concluded world cup and he’s getting lots of offer for his signature from European clubs.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG have all been linked with his services ahead of the upcoming season.
However, there is a new suitor for his signature, according to Sky Sport, who are suggesting that Monaco have shown their urge to work with the 21-year-old playmaker and striker.
According to the British media outlet, Monaco’s Vice President Vadim Vasilyev has confirmed that the team have made an offer for the youngster and they are wishing to defeat their rivals in the race for the player.
Vadim revealed that Monaco have offered a five-year contract to CSKA Moscow but they are yet to get a positive response from the Russian side.
Serie A Champions Juventus are said to be leading the race for the player but rumors have it that their €20m bid was rejected by CSKA Moscow, who revealed that they won’t receive such ‘ridiculous’ offer for the world cup star.
Golovin still has a contract with with CSKA which is expected to keep him at the club till 2021 unless there is any suitor who meets the player’s price tag this summer.
Maurizio Sarri has been Golovin’s longtime admirer since he was with Napoli, he is set to reignite his love to work with the youngster next season.
