Maurizio Sarri to cash in on these two star players.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri reportedly said to cash in on two of the club’s top strikers due to lack of consistent performance from them.
Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have both been far from great in recent seasons and that hasn’t done them any good in the Chelsea career.
Though Giroud showed some glimpse of brilliance in the closing stages of last season, that seems not enough to convince Sarri to give the Frenchman another chance to reignite his career.
As for Morata, who joined the Blues from Real Madrid last summer, he could be moving back to Juventus this summer as the Turin outfits have shown their interest to re-sign the striker ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Morata made a record-breaking move to Stamford Bridge after a successful loan spell at Juventus but he failed to justify his price tag throughout the season as he was only able to score 14 goals in all competitions.
However, according to the Sun, Morata might need to discuss with the new manager over his future.
The former Napoli manager is willing to have a heart-to-heart talk with the striker before he makes any decision on whom to buy as his replacement.
Sarri is targeting a reunion with Gonzalo Higuain as he hopes to lure the Argentina international to the Cobham training ground next season.
Higuain scores 36 goals last season for the Juventus but the Scudetto Champions are no longer interested in keeping the striker beyond the summer.
