Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea’s new manager Maurizio Sarri is set for crunch talks with top members of his squad over their future at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian manager took over from his compatriot Antonio Conte last week and his first move as the club’s boss is to discuss with some players over their future, so as to decide the list of players he needs ahead of next season.

Eden Hazard

The Belgian playmaker is the first on the list of players who need to sort out their contract saga with the club.

Hazard, 27, has a contract with the club which expires by the end of next season but his future is up in the air due to huge pressure from Real Madrid for his service in the 2018-19 season.

The player was beaten by Luka Modric to the Russia 2018 world cup golden ball award this night but his overall performances during the Mundial was enough to further convince Madrid that he is the perfect man to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, whom they sold to Juventus last week.

David Luiz

The Brazilian didn’t have a great relationship with Conte last season and that was responsible for his lack of regular action for the Blues.

The experienced centre-back is heavily linked with a return to Paris St-German but Manchester United boss José Mourinho is looking at the prospect of reuniting with the 31-year-old defender in the coming season.
