Chelsea Confirm Conte’s Departure
It was speculated last night that Conte has been sacked by Abramovic but there were no official statements from the club to back up the reports.
However, the club have confirmed that the Italian manager has been shown the exit door in the early hours of today.
While confirming the news of his sacking, the Blues official site reveals that Roman Abramovic can’t continue working with the manager, who has been awesome throughout his stay at Stamford Bridge.
During his reign as Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte led the team to the League trophy for the second time in three seasons. He was equally able lift last season’s FA Cup glory after beating Arsenal in the final match of the competition.
He also brought fresh tactics to the Bridge which was largely successful throughout the 2016-17 season.
From their usual 4-4-2, the former Juventus manager switched to a 3-4-3 formation which is now deployed by many coaches in modern-day football.
Having parted way with Conte, the West London club are expected to confirm Sarri’s signature before the end of the day.
According to Daily Mail, the 59-year-old tactician is presently in London, where he is expected to pen a three-year contract with the Blues.
Despite his premature exit from the Blues, Conte still remains as one of the club’s most successful managers.
The tactician will need to refresh himself by staying off football for a while before he return to action.
