Deal agreed; Liverpool To Announce Jasper Cillessen Signing This Week.
Liverpool have finally reached an agreement with Barcelona for a new goalkeeper, according to speculations surrounding the Reds training ground.
The Merseyside club have been in a longtime search for a new goalkeeper who will give Loris Karius a run for his money in the coming season.
As part of his searching process, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp identified Barcelona’s third-choice netminder Jasper Cillessen to be the next player time man the post in the coming campaign.
Jasper failed break into Valverde’s starting lineup last season and he is tipped to be heading out of Camp Nou before the end of the ongoing transfer period.
However, reports claim that the Reds have agreed to pay £53m for his service this summer.
The former Ajax netminder wasn’t given any chance till appear in La Liga matches since he left the Eredivisie club in 2015,though he featured in 11 Copa del Rey matches.
During the 11 matches which he played for the Catalans, he conceded just three goals, keeping eight clean sheets in the process.
According to Spanish media outlets Sports, the 29-year-old is believed to make his much-anticipated move to the Anfield Stadium in two days time as he will jet out to the club for his medicals later today.
Should he pass his medicals, he will pen a three-year contract with the Reds, according to the same source.
