Barcelona Beat Man United To Arthur Melo Signature
Manchester United have – once again – failed to capture the service of their longtime target Arthur Melo, who plays for Gremio in Brazil.
According to reports Barcelona have confirmed the player’s signature ahead of the Old Trafford outfits and the player is set to begin his Barcelona career in some days as he will be involved in the Catalan’s pre-season programs.
The former Gremio star becomes the first Barcelona signing of the summer window as the Catalans are yet to complete a deal for any player up until this time.
The Red Devils have been eyeing a possible move for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder since the previous transfer market but they failed to convince Gremio board members to sanctioning his switch to the Theater of Dreams.
Melo reportedly cost the Blaugranas around €30 million while €9 million was also paid as owed in bonuses.
Arthur played just seven matches for the Brazilian prior to his move to the Camp Nou outfits, where he would be hoping to be a perfect replacement for Paulinho, who made a return to the Chinese Super League yesterday.
Arthur is a very young and talented playmaker, who will be hoping to learn from more established players, including Lionel Messi and Phillippe Coutinho.
Barcelona faithfuls will be very glad that their club beat Manchester United to the player who possesses the qualities to become the next ‘Messi’ in the nearest future.
