Tottenham swoop in to snatch £35m-rated star from Arsenal’s grip

Arsenal target Steven N’zonzi, who plays for Sevilla in Spain, could be heading to the White Hartlane Stadium ahead of next season as Mauricio Potchettino picks interest in the central midfielder.

The Frenchman is being monitored by Unai Emery, who tutored the player during his time as Sevilla manager before heading to Paris St-German in 2015.

N’Zonzi has been a household name in the Premier League as he had featured for Aston Villa for some years before he switched to the Spanish League.

Tottenham manager Pochettino is presently looking for a worthy replacement for Moussa Dembele, who is reportedly set for a £26.5m move to Juventus this summer.

According to Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sports, the Argentine tactician believes the Frenchman is the best player to fill the space that will be created by the Belgian’s departure.

N’zonzi is rated at £35m by Sevilla and they will be expecting nothing less from his suitors.

However, Spurs are looking at the prospect of engaging both players in a swap deal so as to get the Frenchman without paying any amount to their La Liga counterparts.

As for Unai and his decision to reunite with the midfielder, it seems impossible for the Spaniard as there are numerous midfielders in his squad who aren’t sure of getting regular game-time under the new gaffer.
