Manchester United manager José Mourinho is confident he will beat Barcelona to Willian’s signature this summer.
The Portuguese manager is being linked with the player’s services for more than a year now but all his efforts were to no avail.
He has once again made a bid for the player this summer but he will need to overcome competition from La Liga giants Barcelona who have also tabled an eye-catching offer for his signature.
According to reports, Mourinho is unfazed with Barcelona’s desire to lure the 29-year-old winger to Camp Nou as he believes the relationship he has with the player will be an advantage to him.
It should be recalled that the Portuguese manager brought the winger to Chelsea in 2011 and he shared a great relationship with him throughout his reign as the Blues manager before he was sacked by Roman Abramovich in 2016.
Meanwhile, Willian has revealed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge after the world cup if Conte remains as the Blues manager.
The winger didn’t have a good relationship with the Italian manager during last season and that has made him decide to end his stay at the West London club as long as Conte won’t be shown the exit door by Chelsea hierarchy this summer.
It was reported last month via Sky Sports that the former Premier League Champions have placed a £60m price tag on his signature as they hope to make huge profit from his sale.
Should United beat Barcelona tickets his signature, Willian will serve as an upgrade to Anthony Martial, who is set for Old Trafford’s exit.
