From Lichtsteiner to Sokratis, followed by Bernd Leno and Torriera, the Gunners are not done yet as they are reportedly set to add another player to their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
The Gunners are on the verge of sealing a deal with Bundesliga side Sampdoria for Torreira’s signature but they are now tipped to complete a move for Matteo Guendouzi later today, according to Spanish media outlet RMC Sport.
The publication reported last night that the 19-year-old midfielder has agreed to the Gunners terms and conditions.
He is reportedly going to arrive in North London today alongside Lucas Torreira for their respective medicals ahead of their unveiling ceremony at the Emirates Stadium.
Matteo was lively for Ligue 1 side Lorient throughout last campaign and his performances at the middle of the park caught Emery’s attention and he wants him at the North London club before the start of the upcoming season.
As soon as he completes his switch to Arsenal, he will be expected to join the rest of the team, who are presently in camp for their pre-season tour. He is expected to cost Arsenal a sum of £7m, according to the same source.
Matteo will need to up his game during pre-season games, so as to convince the former PSG manager that he deserves to be given a starting berth in the team when the 2018-19 season begins in August.
