Arsenal manager Unai Emery has reportedly pulled out the race to sign Ivorian midfielder Michael Jean Seri.
The Gunners were tipped to be heading to the Emirates Stadium last month as the former PSG manager looks to upgrade his midfield’s quality ahead of the upcoming season.
Seri has been a source of transfer speculations as some part of the media claimed that the Gunners are leading the race for his services, while some also claimed that Chelsea and Manchester United are more likely to capture his signature.
Nabil Djellit, who is a French reporter, claimed that the Gunners are on the verge of beating Chelsea to his service.
However, there seems to be a change of destination for the midfielder before the end of the current transfer period as reports via Yahoo France claims that Chelsea are likely to sign him up as Arsenal cool their desire to work with him.
The media publication suggests that the 26-year-old is presently at Stamford Bridge and have signed a pre-contract with the Blues over the possibility of joining them in coming weeks.
The Blues are in need of new players to bolster their midfield display in the 2018-19 season and they have made an offer to capture the 26-year-old star.
Seri still has a year left in his contract with Ligue 1 side Nice but the Blues are ready to trigger his £35m release clause in his contract.
