Arsenal are at it once again, as they are reportedly set to announce the signing of another player this summer.
The Gunners are believed to have won the race for the signature of a very young teenager Sam Greenwood, who plays for Sunderland.
Greenwood, 16, is believed to have agreed to join the Gunners under the tutelage of Unai Emery this summer as he hope to feature for the Emirates Stadium outfits in the nearest future.
According to TEAMtalk, the 16-year-old refused to pen his first professional contract with Sunderland last week. They report that Greenwood doesn’t see himself becoming the player he wants to be if he remains with the Black Cats, therefore he prefers moving to the Gunners, who have great records of turning young players into world-class players.
The England under-16 international was lively for Sunderland’s under-18s side last campaign, he made 15 appearances, scoring six goals and assisting five.
He will surely add pace and threat to the Gunners youth set-up who lost to young Chelsea side in last season’s Youth FA Cup.
Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United were linked to the player’s signature last month but Arsenal are step away from announcing him as their latest player.
Greenwood must up his game at the Hale end academy, should he wants to become an integral part of Unai Emery’s squad in the nearest future.
