Liverpool have made their intentions to rival Everton for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida known to the public and Turkish journalist Turgay Demir is reporting that the Reds have made a bid for his signature.
The Reds paid a huge amount to Southampton last winter for Virgil Van Dijk ‘s services, they are also set to leapfrog their Merseyside rivals in the race for the Besiktas full-back this summer.
According to Demir in an interview on A Spor, Everton have already tabled £15m for the defender but they are yet to get a positive response from the Turkish side, who are claiming that the offer wasn’t suitable for the player’s quality.
Having sold Cenk Tosun to the Merseyside club last season, Besiktas are becoming too sensitive not to let the former Dynamo Kiev player leave them unless they find his replacement on the ground.
The Black Eagles are reportedly demanding for a fee not less than £20m from Everton but the Merseyside club are not ready to offer such amount for the unproven defender.
Vida, 29, has been phenomenal for Croatia since the start of the world cup and he was in sparkling form against Denmark last night, helping the Croats book a place in the quarterfinal round of the competition after beating their European counterparts in an enthralling penalty shootout.
