Arsenal target Steven N’Zonzi is willing to leave Sevilla this season as he has submitted a transfer request to the club’s hierarchy, according to report.
Spanish media outlet Mucho Deporte are claiming that the former Empoli star has revealed his desire to leave the Spanish club this summer and his father has sprung into action by making an official claim that his son is set to end his stay with the former Europa League winners.
This reports will be a very good one to Arsenal boss Unai Emery, who is keenly interested in reuniting with the Frenchman whom he worked with during his time as Sevilla manager in the 2015-16 season.
The Spanish tactician is aiming to find a capable replacement for Jack Wilshere, who is reportedly on his way to Fenerbahce after ending his 10-year spell at the Emirates stadium last week, and he is believed to have found the 29-year-old midfielder as the ideal player to fill in the vacuum created by the Englishman.
However, Sevilla are not ready for discussion unless the Gunners make a bid worth £35m due to the release clause present in N’zonzi’s contract with them.
The Frenchman won’t need much time to settle down at the North London club, should he eventually push through his switch to the Gunners this season. He has played for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City before heading to Sevilla.
