It is no longer news that England international midfielder Jack Wilshere has ended his 10-year stay at the Emirates Stadium last week as he is now considering a move to Turkey for a fresh start.
Though Arsenal hierarchy tried all they could to ensure the player extend his contract with them, all their efforts were to no avail as he wasn’t convinced that he will get regular game-time in the coming season.
Despite the club’s desire to retain Wilshere’s services beyond this summer, Mesut Ozil was said to have advised him to leave the North London club this summer.
According to report emanating from the Emirates Stadium, the German playmaker told Wilshere to move elsewhere this summer so as to be used more frequently during 2018-19 season.
According to Turkish outlet Sporx, Ozil played a huge role in Wilshere decision to quit the Emirates outfits this summer as he reportedly told him how good it was to play for the Turkish side Fenerbahce – who are tipped to be the player’s next destination ahead of next season.
According to Ozil as quoted by the media outlet, Fenerbahce have a great sporting environment that will enhance players’ performances during matches.
“Fenerbahce is a great team [and] the fans are spectacular.” Ozil was quoted by Sportx
The German also told his former teammate how lovely their fans could be during games.
“Turkey is very beautiful and a modern country.” Ozil advised Wilshere
It remains unknown if Wilshere will still proceed with his plans to join the Turkish League giants but if the reports via Sky Sports are anything to go by, the 26-year-old midfielder is on his way to Turkey for medicals ahead of his four-year deal with Fenerbahce.
