Italian manager Maurizio Sarri is set to be announced as Chelsea Manager
Chelsea perilous managerial situation appears to have finally been resolved with news Maurizio Sarri set to be announced as the club manager, according to reports
The London club was in a state of chaos as Antonio Conte’s future appeared uncertain; having led the English club to an underwhelming fifth-place finish that automatically ruled them out of the Champions League next season
And reports from the Guardian indicate Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic is set to swing his axe on the Italian due to his team poor run of form barely a year after impressively winning the premier league in the first season at the helm of the Blues
Although Conte remains as the club manager as a precaution and has already announced his preseason programme, with the Blues kicking off with a clash against Perth Glory in Australia on July 23
However, the expectation is that Sarri would be announced as manager prior to the player’s scheduled return from the summer break with the club poised to pay his compatriot a reportedly estimated 9 million pounds signing off fee
Meanwhile, there has also been a revamp of the coaching crew with Andy Myers replacing Jody Morris as under-18s manager while fitness coach, Chris Jones has partially been appointed as head of performance by Derby manager Frank Lampard and would split his time at both clubs.
