Chelsea faithfuls can’t wait to see Maurizio Sarri takes over from Antonio Conte as Chelsea boss this summer.

Reports are claiming that the Blues hierarchy are set to announce him as the new manager but they are yet to do so due to some amount they need give to Napoli as part of the agreement they had with the Italian manager.

Should Sarri finally be unveiled as Chelsea manager, the fans would be hoping he lure Napoli defender Mertens Dries to the Stamford Bridge as his first signing in the current transaction period.

Mertens, 30, is one of the best strikers at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia, helping his country to a place in the quarterfinal round of the tournament.

The Belgian international plays as a right-winger, a position played by Willian last time.

Willian’s future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain as Mourinho is very much keen to add him to his squad at Old Trafford this summer.

Willian’s move to United will definitely boost Chelsea’s chances of convincing Dries to make the much-anticipated switch to Stamford Bridge before the start of the coming season.

Mertens is a fan of the former Napoli manager and the relationship between them his another advantage for the Blues in their race to capture his signature.

According to the Belgian, Sarri is a great manager who has brought so much discipline and success to the Serie A club and it will be interesting to work with him again.

Considering his age, the Blues might choose to pay a small amount of money for his services this summer
