Right at this moment, Football London are reporting that Arsenal manager Unai Emery is on his way to announce two new players as Torreira and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are both set for their medicals with the club.

The media outlet are suggesting that the Sampdoria midfielder and Borussia Dortmund defender have agreed to personal terms and conditions with the North London club and they are set to be unveiled as soon as they complete their respective medicals.

The Gunners have a longtime interest in the Borussia Dortmund defender and they are now set to finally capture the experienced player in coming weeks.

As for Torreira, the Gunners developed an interest in his signature immediately Unai Emery took over from Arsene Wenger in May and the Spanish tactician is all but set to get him from  Serie A side Sampdoria.

While confirming Torreira’s switch to the Emirates Stadium, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero told reporters last week that Arsenal have reached a £26m agreement with his club for the Uruguayan player, who is very strong on the ball.

However, both players are set to cost the Gunners a relatively small amount as their overall value is set at just £43m deal.

Should they finally join the Gunners next week, Unai Emery will be rest assured that his back four are well protected by the two defensive players in the coming season.

Another Arsenal target Caglar Soyuncu is also on his way to Emirates Stadium if reports emerging from North London are any to go by.
