Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish is all but set to leave the Villa Park Stadium this summer after meeting with Chelsea legend John Terry, who played a huge role in the player’s decision to leave the club, according to the Daily Mirror.

The British publication revealed that former Chelsea defender John Terry, who is a player of the Championship side, advised the youngster to move to another club where he would be given the better chance of developing his career.

Aston Villa failed to promote to the Premier League after losing to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the playoffs and Terry told the 22-year-old to move to a Premier club this summer so as to play alongside top players who would help him mature psychologically.

The Metro are also reporting that Manchester United are close to signing the Englishman this summer but Tottenham are readily set to block the deal from materializing.

The Metro suggest that both clubs are interested in his signature but the North London club have upper hand over their rival in the race to capture the bright prospect.

However, Tottenham are yet to confirm their desire to move for Grealish’s signature this summer and that could be an advantage to the Red Devils.

It remains unknown if joining the Old Trafford outfits would be a good decision for the youngster, considering the number of world-class players competing for place in Mourinho’s starting lineup.
