Having signed a defender – Diogo Dalot from Porto – and a midfielder- Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk – earlier in the month, Manchester United are set to confirm their third signing of the summer as they have reached agreement with Lee Grant, who is presently without a club.
The former Stoke City goalkeeper was in action for the Britannia Stadium outfits against the Reds Devils in 2016-17 season where he made some top-class saves to help his team to a famous 1-1 draw.
The goalkeeper was out of contract by the end of last season and he wasn’t offered a new contract by Stoke’s hierarchy considering his age.
After failing to avoid relegation to the Championship side, the club are set to make wholesome changes to their present squad as they wants to build the team with lots of young and energetic players, who could help them return to the Premier League by the end of next season.
According to reports, José Mourinho is keen on the goalkeeper’s signature this summer. He is reportedly going to serve as the third choice goaltender for the Red Devils should he eventually make his move to Old Trafford.
He could also be integrated into Mourinho’s backroom staffs so as to help in keeping David De Gea and Romero in top form by giving the two goalkeepers the tips that will would help them maintain their status as world-class shot-stoppers
