Liverpool could agree deal for Barcelona shot stopper
Liverpool are reportedly poised to agree a deal for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cilleson.
The Reds are understood to be desperate in solving their problematic goalkeeping position and were initially linked with a move for Roma goalie Allison.
However, the move is said to have cooled off as the Brazilian reportedly favours a move to Real Madrid, subsequently forcing the Merseysiders to turn their attention in snapping up the Dutchman from the Spanish club.
Cillesen has struggled to feature consistently for the Catalan giants and has often being in the shadows of German Marc Andre- Stegen throughout his stay in Spain.
And according to reports from Mundo Deportivo, the Netherland international has no intention of spending another season in the sidelines and is keen on a move elsewhere if not granted his chances by Ernesto Valverde.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to invest largely in signing another goalkeeper between the sticks this summer and the Spanish news outlet further revealed the Reds are frontrunners in the quest to sign the shot-stopper and are reportedly encourage at the player’s desperation in departing Camp Nou this summer.
Barcelona though are understood to want a 60 million pounds fee for Cillesion and whether Klopp would pay up such large amount of money for a player largely fielded as second choice remains another matter entirely.
