Arsenal reportedly given a boost as club secures target replacement
Arsenal football club have reportedly been handed a boost in the quest to sign Sevilla’s midfielder Ever Banega as the club are understood to have signed Roque Mesa as a replacement for the Argentina International.
The 29- year- old is reportedly on the radar of the London club after seemingly impressing for the Andalusians under the watchful eye of Vicenzo Montella last term.
Unai Emery is keen on adding further midfield options after the recent departure of Santi Cazorla and with Jack Wilshere impending exit from the Emirates after contract talks appear to have reached an impasse.
The ex-Valencia coach is understood to be keen on a reunion with Banega after successfully managing him whilst in charge of Valencia and Sevilla respectively
And according to reports from the independent, the Seville outfit have indicated their interest in selling the player and have already confirmed the arrival of Mesa from relegated Swansea city, who is regarded by the club as an ideal replacement for Banega.
The South American reportedly has a 17.5 million pounds release clause entailed in his contract at the Spanish club and the Gunners appear poised to swoop in on the star’s relatively low fee.
