Liverpool are reportedly keen on Real Madrid forward Marcos Ascensio and are hoping to be third time lucky after failing to sign the prodigy twice in the past.
Reports from AS last month emerged that the Reds had an offer worth around 40 million pounds rejected by the Spanish club for Ascensio and the departure of star midfieder Coutinho six months ago culminated in another offer of 150 million euros which was again deemed insufficient for the prized asset.
Now reports from Spanish Media outlet, Munda Deportivo suggests the Merseysiders are bent on acquiring their long-term target and would up their offer to the region of 180 million euros which apparently would be a tempting for Madrid’s president Florentino Perez
Ascensio notched up 53 appearances for the capital club, scoring 11 goals and laying up 6 assists as the La Liga outfit secured the Champions League trophy for the third consecutive season.
However, Chelsea are also rumoured to have approached Madrid for the 22-year-old and both premier league clubs could potentially slug it out for the player’s signature.
The Blues are set to name Maurizio Sarri as its latest Managerial appointee and reports emanating from the club suggest the Italian seems eager in wasting no time in making his mark at Stamford Bridge.
