Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is yet to give up on his desire to lure Real Madrid and Spain striker Marco Asensio to Anfield Stadium as he is now hoping he could get him this summer.
The Reds have been targeting the youngster for a while but they have failed to convince the Los Blancos to sanction his move out of the Spanish capital since 2016.
Reports emanating from the Merseyside club suggests that the German tactician is set to reignite his interests in the player for the last time this summer.
According to Spanish media outlet AS, the Reds had initially made a £50m offer for his services during the previous transfer market but that was turned down by Madrid’s former manager Zinedine Zidane who rated the player so highly that he can’t afford too let him leave until the end of last season.
The same media outlet also claimed that Klopp offered another bid — this time £150m — to the Galaticos last month so as to capture the Spaniard’s signature ahead of the upcoming season but Florentino remains adamant to part way with the 22-year-old striker.
However the report via Mundo Deportivo is suggesting that Liverpool have made up their mind to break the bank so as to beat Chelsea to his signature.
According to the media, Liverpool are willing to meet up with Florentino’s £180m price tag on the youngster’s future.
However, it will be unbelievable if the Reds would be too desperate to release such high amount for a player who hasn’t fully maximize his potentials since he was promoted to Madrid’s first-team squad in the 2016-17 season.
