Journalist hints on an agreed deal for player by Arsenal
Claims from sky sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth suggest Arsenal have finally secured long-term target Lucas Torreira on a long-term deal after been seemingly linked with the youngster in recent weeks.
The Uruguayan is among Europe’s most sought-after prospects after a stellar season for Sampdoria and earlier reports claimed the starlet had agreed a 20 million deal with the English club although proceeding over contractual terms was said to have slowed down due to the player’s participation at the ongoing FIFA World cup in Russia.
The London club have already announced the arrivals of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno from Juventus and Bayern Leverkusen respectively and sky sports journalist Bernard Seth has hinted at Torreira being the club’s third summer signing.
According to Seth, the 22- year- old will put pen to paper on a five year deal at the Emirates as the Gunners have reached an agreement to pay the 22 million release clause entailed in his contract albeit on a premium which involves the payment being spread out across months.
The Journalist further stated the English club are also on the brink of completing a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s defender Sokratis Papasthapoulous though the deal would come into full effect on the 1st of July.
