It was reported earlier this month that Premier League giants Manchester United reached an agreement with Ukrainian Champions Shakhtar Donetsk over the signing of Brazilian star midfielder Fred.
The deal was said to have cost the Red Devils huge sum of money according to many transfer media.
However, the Red Devils have finally confirmed the player’s services last night via their official website.
Manchester United confirmed that the Brazilian midfielder have signed a five-year contract with them after agreeing to the club’s terms and conditions.
The contract is said to make him one of the highest paid players in the squad as he is set to receive £175,000 as weekly wages according to Daily Star.
Fred was awesome for the Ukrainian Champions during the previous season as he made 37 appearances, scoring four goals and assisting seven times.
Having signed a contract with the club, Fred will do all he could to convince Mourinho that he deserves a place in his starting lineup next season.
He would be hoping to partner Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic at the middle of the park during the upcoming season.
Fred was involved in Brazil’s 2-0 victory over Costa Rica yesterday. The Sambar boys was uninspiring in their first group game against Switzerland last week but they were a bit better during yesterday’s game.
With the win over their European counterparts, Brazil now have four points in two matches, they need just a point to qualify to the next round of the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup.
