If the Reds must win their first silverware under Jurgen in the upcoming season, they need to get many players who are capable of performing to their best format throughout the season, according to former Liverpool player Xabi Alonso.
The former Real Madrid star has advised the German manager to make move to get quality players during this summer window because his team need to have much players so has to avoid fatigue to key members of the team.
Liverpool have signed both Naby Keita and Fabinho but the Spaniard that Reds need more than two midfielders to compete with top European clubs for trophies next season.
He advised Klopp to build on the team’s performances which saw them qualify for last season’s Champions League final.
The Merseyside club were defeated by Real Madrid in the last season Champions League final match but Alonso believes they could better their achievements in the upcoming season by winning the European glory only if Klopp has- at least – 23 players.
“I think they need to not just have a ‘short’ team. Not 14 players – you need to list 20, 22 players to be able to cope with so many games,” Alonso told the Daily Mirror.
