Sarri To Sign Two-year Contract With Chelsea
The wait is over, the drama to who will become Chelsea manager is set to be over as reports suggest that the Blues are set to hire Maurizio Sarri on a two-year contract.
The Ex-Napoli manager has been in a lengthy discussion with the club’s hierarchy over the possibility of replacing Antonio Conte and the talks seems to have ended on good note as both parties have reportedly reached an agreement earlier in the week.
According CalcioNapoli24.it, the Blues are going to pay €5m to Napoli as due to the clause present in the manager’s contract with the Serie A side.
However, it is said that Zola would become Sarri’s assistant as part of Abramovich’s decision to bring back the Italian to the Stamford Bridge Stadium.
Zola was part of Chelsea’s squad from 1996 to 2001 in which he helped the team to many trophies as player.
Meanwhile, the Blues must pay €11m to Conte if they must partway with the manager before the week comes to an end. Conte still has a year left on his deal with the Blues, it is therefore mandatory for the Blues to pay a compensating fee to the Italian manager this summer.
