Manchester United boss José Mourinho is looking at the prospect of reuniting with Chelsea winger Willian this summer, according to Daily Mail.
The Portuguese manager worked with him during his reign as the Blues manager and he is now hoping he could convince the Brazilian to join him at Old Trafford ahead of next season.
The British publication claimed that Mourinho has offered £60m to the Blues so as to capture the speedy and skilful winger from Stamford Bridge at the ongoing window.
Willian, 29, is a lively winger capable of scoring goals from dead-ball situations. He didn’t get to play regularly for the Blues during the previous season as he wasn’t rated by Antonio Conte, who could be sacked by the club’s hierarchy later today.
In 55 matches in all competitions, the former Anzhi Makhachkala star scored 13 goals and also made 12 assists before the end of last season.
Since his move to Stamford Bridge in 2013, the Brazilian has featured in 236 matches, scoring 44 goals in the process.
Though Willian still has a running contract with the Blues which will expire in 2020, Mourinho is hoping he could trigger his release clause before the end of the ongoing transfer window.
The Chelsea star was in action for the Sambar boys in their World Cup opener against Switzerland which ended in a 1-1 draw.
He played the entire duration of the game but was unable to inspire his team to the much-deserved victory.
