Arsenal set to swoop for Sevilla star
The Gunners are rumored to be lining up a bid for Sevilla midfielder Stephen N’zonzi, according to the Daily Star.
The reports from the British news outlet claim N’zonzi who apparently is regarded as a long term target by the Gunners would be allowed to depart as the Spanish club have already earmarked a replacement for the towering midfielder
New boos Unai Emery is actively in the market for a new midfielder, with an injury ravaged Santi Cazorla departing to Villarreal while Jack Wilshere seems destined to leave the Emirates after reportedly failing to agree to a new contract with his boyhood club.
And the Daily Star claims N’zonzi is seen by Emery as an ideal fit for the Gunners engine room and the London club are reportedly encouraged by the Seville outfit willingness to sell the Frenchman, having found a suitable replacement for his position
However, the same reports further claim Arsenal would have to cough up the 29 million pounds release clause entailed in his contract if they are intent on acquiring the player’s services this summer.
N’zonzi arrival to North London would certainly provide a meaningful presence and solidity sorely lacking in the Gunners central areas.
