Arsenal youngster Yassin Fortune has joined FC Sion last night after signing a long-term (four- year) deal with the Swiss club.
Though the Gunners haven’t made an official statement to confirm the player’s departure, it is written in Sion official website that the 19-year-old centre-forward has been included in their squad for next season.
Fortune joined the Gunners in 2015 alongside Jeff Reine-Adelaide but he couldn’t progress to the first team, no thanks to injury woes that affected the pace of his development.
Since his arrival in 2015, he was able to feature in just 22 games for the Gunners Under-18 side, though injuries haven’t been fair to the young man.
It was reported in May that Fortune was willing to leave the Emirates Stadium during winter transfer market but the Gunners failed to release him.
In other Arsenal news, the North London club remain keen to bring David Luiz to Stamford Bridge this summer despite seeing their first bid rejected by Chelsea.
The Brazilian failed to get much time on the field last season and Arsenal manager is hoping he could explore his situation at Chelsea to bring him to North London.
According to the Sun, the former Sevilla manager has advised his employers to add to their initial bid for the experienced defender.
Emery worked with David Luiz during the Brazilian’s short spell at Parc des Princes Stadium, he is therefore hoping to reunite with him at Arsenal.
