After failing in their bid to capture Nabil Fekir from Lyon, the Reds have turned their attention to Spanish midfielder Suso, despite interest from Tottenham and Atletico Madrid.
Suso, who currently plays for AC Milan, is valued at just £30m by the Serie A club — who are desperate to sell the Spaniard so as to invest the profits in their move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere before the close of running transfer window.
It is believed that Atletico Madrid were initially linked with Suso’s signature before Tottenham and Liverpool joined in the race but latest rumors via Italian media outlet Tuttosport claim that the La Liga giants have pulled out of the player’s race.
Having reached an agreement with PSG for Thomas Lemar’s signature, the Roji Blancos have cooled their desire to work with the 24-year-old Spaniard in the upcoming season.
Liverpool Echo, a British newspaper, also confirms that Diego Simeone is no longer keen on signing the Spaniard, thereby, giving Liverpool the chance to beat Tottenham to his signature.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochetino is in search for a new midfielder who will serve as Dembele’s replacement in the 2018-19 season.
Dembele, who is presently with Belgium in Russia, is said to move out of Wembley this summer having reached the end of his contract with the club.
