Liverpool are one step away from completing their long-awaited move for Roma goaltender Alisson, according to report emanating from the Anfield Stadium via the Express.
The Merseyside club were painfully defeated by Real Madrid in last season’s Champions League final due to school-boy errors from Karius Loris.
Though the Reds faithfuls might have moved on from the ugly incident, Liverpool manager is still in search of new goalie who will be a long-term solution to what looks like a crisis in his goalkeeping department.
The Express reports that Liverpool are in crunch competition with Real Madrid for Alisson’s signature but the Reds could eventually turn out to be his next destination before the start of the 2018-19 season.
It is obvious that the Los Blancos are keenly interested in luring Manchester United first-choice netminder De Gea to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, therefore, Liverpool might need to convince United to sell the Spaniard to Real Madrid in the summer.
Should Real Madrid finally capture the Spaniard’s signature, that would ultimately put an end to their chase after Alisson and that would equally put Liverpool in pole position to sign the Roma goalkeeper.
However, convincing Mourinho to let go of De Gea would be a tough task for the Reds to achieve. The goalie has over the years been the best player for the team despite being an infield player.
