It is widely spread across all media outlets that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is being tracked by Real Madrid to become their next manager after Zidane’s decision to vacate his post two weeks ago.
Though coaching Real Madrid looks lucrative and prestigious, the Italian tactician has surprisingly rejected the offer, according to Italian media publication Gianluca Di Marzio.
The publication suggests that Conte is unwilling to leave Stamford Bridge this summer despite the uncertainties surrounding his stay at the West London club.
Conte repeatedly revealed to reporters during last season that he won’t end his deal with the Blues unless he was shown the exit door by Roman Abramovich in the summer. As it stands, Conte still has two years left in his contract with the club.
Di Marzio also reports that Conte is not the best manager for a club as big as Real Madrid.
Over the years, only established managers— except Rafa Benitez— have been given the chance to manage the star-studded Los Blancos side and that could be the reason behind Conte’s decision to neglect Florentino’s offer for his signature.
Though Conte has proven to be a force to reckon with during his time at Juventus and Chelsea, his relationship with his players is one aspect that will definitely go against him should he eventually accept the offer from the Spanish giants.
